What You'll Do
As a Sr. Fullstack Engineer, you'll spend the majority of your time maintaining, optimizing, and scaling Coverstar's backend systems to ensure they're secure, reliable, and high-performing — while also contributing to the client surfaces (web and/or mobile) that sit on top of them. You'll partner closely with backend, frontend, data, and AI teams to design, build, and ship features end-to-end. Your work keeps every feature, feed, and livestream running smoothly and safely for our community.
You Might Be a Fit If You:
- Are an engineer who understands how things work under the hood, not just how to make them work. Software engineering is a craft to you.
- Have 4+ years of hands-on backend development experience, preferably on AWS cloud.
- Have 2+ years of hands-on frontend experience (web, iOS, or Android) and are comfortable shipping end-to-end features when needed.
- Are comfortable collaborating with distributed teams and providing coverage across the EDT time zone.
What You'll Do on Day One
From the start, you'll bring your cloud expertise to bear on the core systems that power Coverstar:
- Ship end-to-end features that span backend services and client code (web and/or mobile) when the work calls for it, with the bulk of your time spent on the backend.
- Build and ship production systems in Node.js and Python, bringing strong command of both languages to our stack.
- Work hands-on across our AWS footprint (EC2, Lambda, S3, ECS, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, and more).
- Apply senior-level SQL skills across relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL solutions (DynamoDB, Redis), including performance optimization and scaling strategies.
- Drive proactive capacity planning and infrastructure improvements.
- Handle rare incident response during EDT daytime hours, restore services quickly, and drive long-term preventive measures.
